Los Angeles based artist Chris Ouk was born in Pouthisat, Cambodia. Having survived the horrible Khmer Rouge years, he arrived as a young refugee to Long Beach, California with his family. Chris has a natural talent and began drawing and sketching as soon as he arrived in the States. He was 7 years old when for the first time in his life, a pencil and paper was handed to him on the first day of school. Chris has continued ever since and has been painting, drawing, and illustrating with a background in drafting, architecture, story-boarding, and street art. Using a wide variety of mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, oil, spray paint, and his favorite...India ink. Chris has created a unique style of using ink to drip and splatter building multiple layers reflecting an edgy, urban body of work. Chris has been commissioned to do many private projects. Many of his paintings are displayed all over the world by collectors. He likes to paint near his home along the world famous Venice Beach Boardwalk in Venice, California.
